"IL MEGLIO DEVE ANCORA VENIRE..."

...Questa è la frase piena di speranza rivolta al popolo americano da parte di Barack Obama, 

rieletto per la seconda volta presidente degli Stati Uniti.

Classe 1961, Barack Hussein Obama nasce a Honolulu (Hawaii) il 4 agosto.

Il padre, keniota emigrato negli Stati Uniti per studiare, conosce la studentessa Ann Dunham (di Wichita, Kansas); la coppia frequenta ancora l'università quando il piccolo Barack nasce.

Nel 1963 i genitori si separano; il padre si trasferisce ad Harvard per completare gli studi, poi fa ritorno in Kenya. Rivedrà il figlio solo in un'occasione poi morirà nel suo paese natale nel 1982. La madre si risposa: il nuovo marito è Lolo Soetoro, indonesiano, altro ex collega universitario, da cui avrà una figlia.

Nel suo libro I sogni di mio padre (Dreams from My Father) Obama descrive la sua esperienza di crescere con la famiglia di sua madre; una famiglia di ceto medio e, ovviamente, bianca. 

Incontrerà il padre una volta sola, a dieci anni, durante le vacanze natalizie del 1971.

Obama scrive: "Mio padre non sembrava per nulla come le persone a fianco a me — che era nero come la pece, mentre mia madre bianca come il latte — me ne ricordo a malapena." 

Da giovane, lottò per riconciliare le percezioni sociali sulla sua eredità multirazziale. 

Obama scrive del suo utilizzo di marijuana e cocaina durante la sua adolescenza per "spingere le domande su chi ero fuori dalla mia testa". 

                  

Obama ha tutto per essere un predestinato, compresa la pelle nera. 

L’eloquio, il fascino, la cultura, il portamento. Il classico primo della classe. 

Ma quasi metà degli americani gli avrebbe preferito il rivale Romney, un personaggio decisamente insignificante, spesso rozzo, senza grande carisma né eleganza.

Certo, molti solo per la frustrazione legata alla crisi economica di questi anni, ma forse anche perché alla gente i perfettini non piacciono poi così tanto.

Sapete infatti qual é la foto preferita dai visitatori della Casa Bianca? 

Quella del Presidente che si china a farsi toccare la testa dal figlio di un Marine...

Meet his father once, ten years, during the Christmas holidays of 1971.

Obama writes: "My father did not look anything like the people next to me - that he was black as pitch, while my mother white as milk - I barely remember."

As a young man, he struggled to reconcile social perceptions of his inheritance multiracial.

Obama writes of his use of marijuana and cocaine during his teenage years to "push questions of who I was out of my head."

Obama has everything to be a predestined, including black skin.

The speech, charm, culture, behavior. The classic first class.

But almost half of Americans would have preferred the rival Romney, a character very insignificant, often crude, without charisma or elegance.

Indeed, you know which is the favorite photo by visitors to the White House?

That of the president who bends his head to be touched by the son of a Marine ...
